У Mikhail Samoilov, the most experienced domestic officer, suffered grief. During a bloody confrontation with terrorists from Syria, the hero witnessed the death of his fellow soldier and longtime comrade Igor Makarov. Samoilov experiences a terrible sense of guilt, believing that he could not save his brother in arms. Misha soon returned to his native city of Yantarsk, intending to help Igor's widow, whose name is Olya.
However, the officer does not even realize that the old friend, who was considered dead, actually survived. Moreover, it turned out that Makarov is extremely dangerous. Some time later, the inhabitants of Yantarsk are shocked by a whole chain of horrific crimes. Mikhail begins his own investigation and realizes that the head of the local port, Kupriyanov, is behind the difficult crime situation in the city.
However, upon further study of the issue, it becomes clear that Kupriyanov is a pawn in a multi-move, confusing and risky game that can lead to a huge number of human deaths. How is Makarov involved in all this, and why do many fear Igor? Why did a wave of crimes swept through the city, and who benefits from them? Will Misha get to the bottom of the truth?
